Art school is the easy way to get a good learnin' for me considering my talents and personalities, but as I've said before, I don't like being schooled about art, and an art major isn't going to exactly going to roll the dough in.
Or I could go to a JC, and hope I get the whole grade situation figured out.
Also on my list, summer job.
The future is reasonably well lit.
I understand that there's a lot about the school life that isn't "clicking" for you, Aleks. "The grade situation" isn't all that hard -- you just need to have discipline with your time and put in the effort on a DAILY basis, not just when you feel like it.
ReplyDeleteI hope art school is still a viable option for you. If the grades slip too far, maybe it won't be. I don't know. I can tell you this: hard work and discipline are not things you can flip on like a switch once you start enjoying the subject matter or collecting a wage. You need to practice them, just like any other skill.
If nothing else, school is a place to learn how to grind through a daily routine, put your best effort forward consistently, and keep a positive outlook even when you can't stand the work itself. I hope you learn that soon, cuz like you say, it won't be art that pays the bills initially.
